Respect & Inclusion Summer Experience (RISE)

Description: As a member of the Coast Guard Academy Class of 2022, you and your family are cordially invited to RISE, an orientation for new cadets. RISE takes place on June 28 to July 2, in New London.

Totally optional, RISE helps new cadets make a gradual transition from civilian to military life. Please consider attending if you:

• Are the first in your family to attend college
• Are admitted as an international student or live overseas
• Haven't visited the Academy yet
• Belong to a group that is historically underrepresented at the Academy
• Have concerns about the transition and prefer a gradual introduction

**ATTENTION: As a military facility, the Coast Guard Academy complies with the REAL ID Act, a federal law passed in 2005 to set standards for authenticating personal identification. Accordingly, the Coast Guard Academy is currently unable to grant access to the campus based only on the presentation of state drivers licenses issued by Minnesota, Washington, Missouri, Maine, and Montana. Residents of these states should plan to present an alternate, compliant form of ID, such as a passport, military ID, TWIC card, or permanent resident card.
